Editorial and media policy
A clear explanation should also make its evidence clear.
Sources and uncertain origins
We prefer identifiable first-person interviews, institutional materials and original posts for historical claims. Reporting and meme databases can document circulation, but a reupload is not proof of an original release. If we accessed only an indexed text or could not play a source, we state that limitation where it matters.
Translations and examples
Literal meanings and natural English interpretations have different jobs. We show both when useful. A phrase can change meaning across communities. Examples written for this site are labelled as illustrations, not quotations from real users.
Images and videos
The homepage and explainer use a supplied composite of teaching-video stills. Its original uploader and exact frame timestamps have not been independently established. It is shown for identification, not as proof of a first release or as a complete movement tutorial. Reference videos are embedded from their platforms or linked with creator attribution. We do not provide a download of someone else's video or audio.
AI assistance and review
AI assists with research, drafts, translation, illustration and code. Model output alone cannot substantiate an origin, date or popularity claim. We do not invent interviews, professional credentials, visits, usage tests or search-volume figures.
Updates and corrections
Substantive corrections should identify what changed and why. Re-running a build does not make an old source newly checked. A correction can be a clarification, source replacement, consolidation or removal when a claim cannot be supported. The contact page records the available route for requests.
Commercial relationships
The current site has no ads, affiliate links, sponsors or paid placements. If that changes, relevant disclosures and privacy arrangements must be updated before those features are enabled.
